1. General Provisions
1.1. These Terms of Use (hereinafter — the "Terms") govern access to and use of the website Virtual Memory Space. Museum of Crimean Resistance / www.museum-resistance.com (hereinafter — the "Site"), which preserves and memorializes the stories of Crimean political prisoners of the Kremlin persecuted following the beginning of the Russian occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol in 2014.
1.2. The owner of the Site is Sole Proprietor Tevfikova Lera Reshativna, EDRPOU 3176110707, contact address: [email protected], (hereinafter — the "Owner," "we").
1.3. The Site is a non-commercial, educational, and informational-outreach resource. No registration is required to view its content.
1.4. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with any provision hereof, please discontinue use of the Site.
2. Purpose and Objective of the Site
2.1. The Site was created to preserve historical memory, document facts of persecution, disseminate reliable information about Crimean political prisoners, and support cultural and educational activities.
2.2. The Site does not pursue commercial purposes and does not sell goods or services.
3. Permitted Use of Content
3.1. Materials on the Site (texts, photographs, archival documents, videos, infographics, etc.) may be viewed, quoted, and shared for non-commercial, educational, and human-rights purposes, provided that:
- the source is credited with a link to the Site;
- the integrity of the information is preserved, without distorting its content or context;
- archival materials (photographs, documents, testimonies) are not altered without the Owner's written consent.
3.2. Use of the Site's materials for commercial purposes, for advertising, in propaganda materials, or in a manner that distorts facts or diminishes the significance of the persecutions is strictly prohibited.
3.3. Rights to certain materials (archival photographs, documents, testimony recordings) may belong to third parties (families, partner organizations, archives, etc.). Such materials are marked accordingly wherever possible. Questions regarding the use of these materials should be addressed directly to the rights holder or to us as an intermediary.
4. Intellectual Property
4.1. The design, structure, texts authored by the Site's editorial team, and other original elements of the Site are subject to copyright and belong to the Owner, unless otherwise indicated.
4.2. Trademarks and logos of partner organizations, where present, are used with their permission and remain the property of their respective rights holders.
4.3. If you believe that material posted on the Site infringes your copyright or related rights, please contact [email protected], specifying the material and the grounds for your claim. We will review the request and, where warranted, remove or restrict access to the material.
5. Personal Data of Individuals Mentioned on the Site
5.1. The Site publishes names, biographical information, photographs, and other details about individuals who have suffered political persecution, for cultural and educational purposes that serve the public interest.
5.2. An individual (or their legal representatives/relatives) about whom information is posted on the Site has the right to request clarification, addition, or restriction of access to the relevant information. Requests are reviewed at [email protected].
5.3. The processing of personal data of Site visitors (as distinct from individuals mentioned in the materials) is governed by a separate Privacy Policy.
6. Liability and Disclaimer Regarding the Accuracy of Information
6.1. The Site's materials are based on open sources, court documents, eyewitness testimony, and publications by human rights organizations and media outlets. Despite efforts to verify accuracy, we do not guarantee the complete absence of inaccuracies, including those related to translation, discrepancies between sources, or incomplete information at the time of publication.
6.2. If you are aware of an inaccuracy in the information posted, please notify us at [email protected] – we will promptly review it and make corrections where necessary.
6.3. The Site is not responsible for the content of third-party resources that may be linked from the Site.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the Site, but we do not guarantee that it will operate without technical failures or interruptions.
7. Prohibited Conduct
It is prohibited to:
- use the Site in a manner that violates applicable law;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site's technical infrastructure;
- distribute the Site's materials in a way that distorts facts, or for propagandistic or manipulative purposes;
- use automated tools (bots, scrapers) for mass copying of content without prior agreement.

We may periodically update these Terms. The current version is always available on this page, indicating the date of the last update. Continued use of the Site after changes have been made constitutes acceptance of those changes.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine. Disputes arising in connection with the use of the Site shall be resolved through negotiation, and, failing agreement, in accordance with the procedure established by the applicable legislation of Ukraine.
