Detention: A criminal case was initiated against him for using violence against a government representative in connection with the events of May 3, 2014, when local residents blocked the road to meet the spiritual leader of the Crimean Tatars, Mustafa Dzhemilev. Sentence: On May 29, 2015, the Russia-controlled Armyansk City Court found Musa Abkerimov guilty of using violence against a government representative and sentenced him to 4 years and 4 months of suspended imprisonment with a three-year probation period. He faced up to 10 years of actual imprisonment. The court considered mitigating circumstances, including the fact that the injured police officer, Oleksandr Krupskyi, personally requested the court not to imprison the defendant. After completing the probation period in 2018, Abkerimov was released.

Abkerimov's lawyer, Dzhemil Temishev, stated after the verdict: 'He faced a sentence of up to ten years in prison. The court sentenced the defendant to four years and four months suspended with a probation period of three years. I believe this verdict is lawful and fair.'

In total, over one hundred Crimean Tatars were held accountable in various ways in the 'May 3 case.' Five – Abkerimov, Edem Ebulisov, Tair Smedlyaev, Rustem Abdurakhmanov, and Edem Osmanov – became subjects of criminal proceedings.

Musa Reshatovich Abkerimov, a resident of Armyansk, Crimean Tatar, was born on November 23, 1990. Human rights activists classify these persecutions as a systematic attempt by the occupying authorities to intimidate the Crimean Tatar community and punish them for expressing support for their national leader.
